The safety and well-being of all conference participants is our priority. IEEE has been monitoring
the developing COVID-19 pandemic (Coronavirus). The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 (Coronavirus) to be a pandemic, many governments have enacted travel bans and numerous state and local governments are prohibiting large or even moderately-sized public gatherings. Such bans on travel and public
gatherings are likely to increase in number and scope in the coming weeks.

After studying and evaluating the announcements, guidance, and news released by relevant
national departments and due to the second wave of the pandemic in Barcelona, we are sorry to announce that the in-person gathering of IEEE COINS 2020 has been canceled and it will now be held as a virtual conference (August 31- September 2).

COINS Technical Sessions will comprise two main components:

Prerecorded presentation: Authors should provide the prerecorded version of the presentation (15-25 minutes) by August 21 to provide visibility to the technical contributions to authors. All recorded presentations will remain archived and available online.
Live session: A live session (via Webex event) will take place during the assigned time slot, with the speaker participating via video webinar. The speaker will give a live recap of the talk (up to 15 minutes), and then answer questions from the Q&A (up to 5 minutes).

Authors that do not meet the above components will be considered “no-shows” and papers will be excluded from IEEE Xplore.

COINS also discusses the associated challenges that need to be overcome for achieving the goal of accuracy, privacy, reliability and security. The three-day COINS event consists of a conference with plenary keynote speakers, invited papers, regular papers, panels, special hot-topic sessions, and workshops.
