Engagement and Outreach Program

Engagement and Outreach Program

In collaboration with the IEEE Computer Society and Data Engineering Technical Community, IEEE COINS offers the following Engagement and Outreach Program:

Panel 1: Navigating the Tech. Industry as a Woman: Insights, Experience, and Lessons Learned from Leading Women in Tech

This panel will provide a platform for our guests, in which tech leaders as women or advocates for women in technology will provide insight into their experiences and share their perspectives. The panelists will highlight the stories and experiences about their successes and challenges in the tech industry, providing opportunities for women in tech to relate to one another and creating an open dialogue about the central role of skills (e.g., practical skills, technical skills, and entrepreneurial skills), career, and relationship building. This holistic panel will also address some of the key questions many women have regarding navigating the tech space, career development, and growth in the fields of AI/AIoT.

Panel 2: Designing for All: Building Technologies that Reflect Real-World Needs
This panel explores how thoughtful design can ensure technology is accessible, relevant, and impactful for a wide range of users. Panelists will discuss how factors such as culture, environment, ability, and access influence the way products and systems should be designed. From inclusive user experiences to adaptable system architectures, the conversation will highlight strategies for creating technologies that serve diverse communities and reflect the realities of everyday use. Attendees will gain insights into how designing with empathy and awareness leads to more effective, meaningful innovation.
