ST Edge AI TinyML Contest at IEEE COINS 2026
IEEE COINS 2026, in collaboration with STMicroelectronics, invites participants to join a TinyML contest focused on real-time human activity recognition using ST’s Edge AI and MEMS sensor technologies. The contest challenges individuals and teams to design compact, efficient, and accurate AI models that can recognize human activities from accelerometer and gyroscope data and run on an Intelligent Sensor Processing Unit.
Participants will collect their own sensor data, train a multiclass TinyML model, convert it using ST Edge AI tools, and deploy it on supported ST development platforms. Solutions will be evaluated based on accuracy, execution time, memory footprint, and creativity of the selected use case. Example activities may include brushing teeth, washing hands, running, cycling, yoga, climbing stairs, housework, and other daily or sports-related movements.
The contest is open to individual applicants and teams. Participants are encouraged to present real-time demonstrations during IEEE COINS 2026.
